We can provide helmets to any students taking lessons. It is requested that you bring your own if you have one.
Also required: long pants, appropriate upper-body clothing (lots of thin layers in colder weather!) and a closed shoe with a small (about ½") heel. Sneakers and sandals are not acceptable. If you are unsure, please contact us before your lesson.
Beginners' lessons are taught by either Cinny or Sandra (student's option). Students will be shown the basics from the ground up, including the grooming and tacking up of the horse.
Building on the basics, Sandra teaches intermediate or more advanced riders with consideration of their previous experience. As each rider comes with a different background and has different goals for their riding career Sandra takes both experience and goals into consideration while planning an individualized lesson program for each rider.
All lessons are by appointment only and are generally held on weekday afternoons and Saturday mornings. You can find the prices for lessons and information on how to schedule a lesson in each instructor's biography on the staff page.
Any lesson cancellations must be handled via telephone or in person. Cancellations via email will not be accepted and will result in the full cost of the scheduled lesson being due.
Failure to cancel a lesson, or giving notice of cancellation less than twenty-four hours in advance of the scheduled start time, will result in the full cost of the scheduled lesson being due.
All lessons will start at the scheduled time. Scheduling does not permit us to extend the conclusion of the lesson if a rider is not present and ready to ride at the scheduled start time -- a late start will result in a shorter lesson charged at the full rate.
